Wes Lambert appointed Director of prominent foodservice industry association

The Australian Foodservice Advocacy Body (AFAB) has appointed a new Director, Wes Lambert CPA, FGIA, CAE, MAICD.

Wes has extensive experience advocating for hospitality, making a strong impact over his career as an outspoken campaigner for the industry, especially during the recent challenges of lockdowns and restrictions.

“Wes’ impressive track record as a champion of our industry makes him an excellent addition to our Board and he will be at the forefront of our advocacy with government and industry leaders,” says AFAB CEO Tony Green.

“After what the foodservice industry has been through, it is crucial that our voice is heard on important issues such as supply chain disruption, workforce shortages and unsustainably rising costs.”

Established just over one year ago, AFAB is an integrated industry body for Australia’s $80+ billion foodservice sector, with founding partners including Simplot FS, Ingham’s, Tip Top FS, Primo FS, Comcater Equipment, All G Foods, Core Element, Food Industry Foresight, New Sunrise, Mars Food, Mondiale VGL, Mutti, Fine Foods, Bega FS, Cookers, and ECOLAB.

Tony explains that by uniting producers, manufacturers, distributors, hospitality, and service providers, AFAB’s reach spans the total foodservice supply chain.

Wes plans to hit the ground running as a Director, and says it is imperative for the future of foodservice that workforce and supply issues are addressed immediately.

“I am extremely excited and humbled by this appointment and I look forward to continuing to work for positive outcomes for our vital and dynamic industry,” he says.

Wes has had numerous hospitality-related roles through his career including Executive Director, Secretary and Financial Controller for the Pacific Restaurant Group (Kingsley’s, ChopHouse, & Jamie’s Italian) and also as an investment banker for restaurant capital earlier in his career.

In 2020 he was named a leading Association Influencer by the Australasian Society of Association Executives, and he led an industry body awarded “Association of the Year 2020” by Associations Forum.

Tony Green says AFAB is delighted to welcome Wes to the Board.

“We look forward to working with Wes to fulfill our mission of lifting the productivity and profitability of Australia’s foodservice sector, which will deliver jobs and improve livelihoods Australia-wide.”
